Auditoriums Updates, Changes

FRESNO, CA – Fresno movie theater at North Fresno’s River Park will soon experience big changes. Updates and changes will affect all 22 auditoriums. In fact, North Fresno’s Edwards is now going to turn into Regal Cinemas, with a new IMAX theater and updated flooring, restrooms, and concessions. It is going to be re-branded as Regal Cinemas. The renovations are already currently going on to help modern the longtime movie house.

Overhauling the Movie Theater

River Park’s cornerstone tenants are now getting a major facelift. The work will totally overhaul the movie theater. It will make it more comfortable for families. Moreover, this will be a new movie house, with a focus on enhancing the theater-going experience.

“We finally have all the amazing seats that other theaters in town have, with state of the art everything here. It’ll be so up to date that I think all the other theaters lag behind in terms of being modern,” says Tracy Kashian who is part of River Park management.

To allow for a larger lobby and bar area, the ticket office will also be moving out to the building’s overhang. The Regal says is looking to implement new safety precautions in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

“Regal has an app that you can purchase your tickets, you can purchase your popcorn, your drinks and any of your concessions and have it ready for you when you get here,” says Kashian.

The new 15-year lease agreement comes with multi-million dollar remodel. In addition, bringing IMAX inside the main theater building for the first time.

“IMAX has been separate but now it’s moving into Regal Cinemas. It’ll be one of their theaters within the actual auditorium. There’s a 4DX that’s open and running it actually opened before COVID started and that is ready to go.”

The movie theatre will remain open during construction but does come with some capacity restrictions brought on by the pandemic.
